The Giorgia comes in 1500mm and 1700mm lengths, so choose the one that fits your space. The plug and waste are sold separately, and there's no tiling flange supplied, so plan for both. There's extra depth so you can fully recline, with arm rests that sweep round from the shoulders and lumbar support behind your back. The acrylic is white, sanitary grade and naturally slip resistant, and the rim is reinforced with steel rod over a double reinforced base. Self-supporting feet make installation easier, and with the bath tiled in, there's no gap behind it for dust. The tile bead strip and the plug and waste aren't included, and a pop-down waste is the recommended pick.

The Caroma Newbury 1800mm Island Plus Bath is a roomy two-person bath built for a comfortable soak, with reclined ends at both sides and a centre waste so nobody's stuck sitting on the tap end. At 1800mm long, there's space to relax. The island design sits inset in a tiled 'island' hob, which means you can position it anywhere in the room and show off your tile choice while you're at it. It's made from quality sanitary grade acrylic that stands up to daily use, so you get a warm, hard-wearing surface that lasts. Replacing a tired old spa, or fitting one into a new build? The Decina Turin 1790 Contour 12-Jet Spa Bath is an inset bath made for the family bathroom. The tile bead gives you a clean finish against your wall tiles. It's made in Australia to Australian Standards AS3861/1991 and finished in high gloss white premium sanitary grade acrylic, so it looks sharp and handles daily use. The base is reinforced with a resin and fibreglass coating, which means solid, lasting support underfoot. Running the show is a 750 watt TriFlo Eco Pump driving 12 jets, controlled from a rim-mounted Sensa-Touch pad. There's a 10 year warranty on the spa bath shell too. Quality you can trust at a fair price.

Replacing an existing inset bath is mostly a matter of matching length and rim height so the tiling survives the swap. Measure both, note the waste position, and always confirm your bath size and style with your plumber before purchasing.

What exactly is an inset bath?

A bath designed to be built in: it sits inside a tiled hob or frame with its rim supported by the surround, rather than standing finished on its own like a freestanding bath.

Can I replace an inset bath without retiling?

Often, if the new bath matches the old one's length and rim height closely; some tile repair at the rim is common. Photos and measurements let your plumber confirm before you order.

Steel or acrylic for an inset bath?
