A new flush button without replacing the cistern

A flush button is pressed more than any other part of the toilet, so it is often the first thing to wear, stick or look dated. The range is cistern flush buttons, mostly round, in matte black, satin black, gunmetal, brushed brass, brushed nickel and brushed bronze. They replace the button on the cistern itself, so the toilet stays as it is.

Buttons are made for particular cisterns, so identify yours before choosing a finish: the series name is usually on the pan or inside the cistern lid, and the product page shows what each button suits. Swapping a button for another from the same series is a simple job you can do yourself. If the toilet keeps running afterwards, or you cannot confirm the series, ask your plumber.

How do I know which flush button fits my cistern?

Find your toilet's series name, then match it to the button. The Luna and Urbane II buttons are named for the series they suit, and the product page for the Round Metal button shows its fitment.

Can I replace a cistern flush button myself?

Yes, when the new button is from the same series as your cistern it is a simple swap. If the series differs, or the cistern is leaking or running, call a licensed plumber.

Can I match a flush button to my tapware?

Yes. The buttons come in matte black, satin black, gunmetal, brushed brass, brushed nickel and brushed bronze, so choose the finish closest to your taps.

What is the difference between a cistern button and a concealed toilet button?

A cistern button sits on the cistern of a toilet you can see. A concealed button or flush plate sits on the wall and works an in-wall cistern, and the two are not interchangeable.
