The Decina Luna 1200 Rear Outlet Shower Base is made in Australia from sanitary grade acrylic, with a steel rod reinforced base backed by resin, fibreglass and timber board to add strength. It stands on self-supporting feet and needs no mortar bed, which saves time and mess on the install. The step in is a low 49mm, handy for anyone who finds a high hob awkward. The surface is highly slip resistant, feels warm under bare feet and is made to resist scratching, staining and fading. The waste sits at the rear under a square chrome cover that holds by friction and lifts out for cleaning.

Available in 1205mm, 1515mm, 1650mm and 1790mm lengths to suit your space, so there's one to fit that awkward alcove.

Shower bases and shower baths for a straight swap

This page holds acrylic shower bases in rear outlet and angled formats from 900mm to 1200mm, along with inset shower baths for rooms where the bath doubles as the shower. Bases come with the waste position set, so the job is usually a like for like replacement of what is already there rather than a re-plumb. Sizes follow the openings used in most Australian homes.

Measure the opening at floor level and at the wall, and note where the waste sits before you order, because a base that is 50mm out will not fit. Check the fall and the waste position with your plumber, and confirm whether your wall lining needs to be cut back. Shower bases are a licensed plumbing job, not a weekend one.

Do you sell shower screens?

No. Tradelink no longer stocks shower screens online. You can contact your local store if you would like to purchase a shower screen.

What is the difference between a shower base and a shower bath?

A shower base is a moulded floor tray that sits in the shower recess. A shower bath is a bath shaped so it can be showered in, which suits a bathroom that only has room for one or the other.

How do I know which size shower base to order?

Measure the finished opening at floor level, wall to wall, and check where the waste sits. Order to the opening rather than the old base, which may have been trimmed on installation.

Do I need a plumber to install a shower base?

Yes. The waste connection and the fall to the drain are plumbing work and must be done by a licensed plumber. Waterproofing is a separate trade and is usually done before the base goes in.
