The Oliveri Spectra Single Bowl Sink in Copper is 1.2mm thick 304 grade 18/10 stainless steel with a copper coloured finish, so it looks like a specialty sink but cleans like steel. The single bowl is 540mm wide with the waste outlet to the rear, which keeps more cupboard space free. Sound proofing cuts the noise of running water. It's a universal sink that fits as an undermount, inset or flushmount, with no tap hole, so your mixer goes in the bench. A basket waste, clips, a bench top drainer tray, a bamboo board and a matching bowl protector are all in the box. Lifetime manufacturer's warranty (see Oliveri's terms).

It's hand made from 1.2 mm thick 304 stainless steel, so it takes the daily hammering and holds its finish. The colander and roller are included, which makes prep and draining a lot less fiddly. Underneath there's an anti-condensation coating to help guard against mildew. Watermark certified, with a 25 year warranty behind it. That's a long time to be washing up.

The Oliveri Sonetto Double Bowl Topmount Sink in Brushed Stainless Steel is formed from 1.2mm thick 304 grade 18/10 stainless steel, with softly squared corners that are easy to wipe out. Sound proofing pads on the underside take the clatter out of running water and dropped cutlery. It's a topmount with one tap hole, so it suits most benches and a standard sink mixer. You get more than the sink in the box: two 90mm basket wastes, mounting clips, a bench top drainer tray and a bamboo chopping board. Oliveri is Australian owned and backs it with a lifetime manufacturer's warranty (see Oliveri's terms).

Fine surface marks develop with use and blend into an even patina on brushed finishes. Avoid steel wool, use a sink mat if you're concerned, and the sink will look consistent for decades.

Topmount or undermount stainless sink?

Topmount drops into a cutout and suits any benchtop including laminate. Undermount gives the flush, wipe-straight-in look but needs a stone or solid surface top and professional fitting.
