The ultimate addition to your home chef kitchen layout

A pot filler mounts on the wall over the cooktop and unfolds to fill pots where they'll boil, saving the heavy carry from sink to stove. Tradelink's pot fillers come from Phoenix and Fienza, in articulated double-jointed designs across current finishes.

They're the serious-cook's fitting that's gone mainstream with big-pot cooking, pasta nights and preserving seasons. Installation needs a cold water line run to the cooktop wall, which is renovation-stage plumbing, so plan it with your plumber while the wall is open.

What is a pot filler tap for?

Filling large pots at the cooktop instead of carrying them full from the sink. The articulated arm reaches over burners and folds flat against the wall when not in use.

Does a pot filler need hot water?

Convention says cold only, since the pot is heading for the heat anyway, and a single cold line keeps the plumbing simple. Some install dual-feed; discuss with your plumber.

Can a pot filler be added to an existing kitchen?

It needs a water line inside the cooktop wall, so it's easiest during renovation. Retrofits are possible where the wall can be opened or fed from behind.

How high should a pot filler be mounted?

High enough to clear your tallest stockpot on the cooktop, typically with the folded arm sitting above splashback height. Check the arm's reach against your burner layout.
