The Raymor Projix Under Counter Basin 530mm x 350mm in White mounts beneath the benchtop, so the stone runs right up to the bowl and you can wipe water straight in. It's white vitreous china, 180mm deep, with no taphole, which means your mixer sits on the bench or comes off the wall. There's an overflow with a chrome plated grille, and the chrome pop-up waste with hair catcher connects to 32mm to 40mm pipes. Plug and waste, overflow cap, basin fixing kit, cut-out template and installation instructions are all included. Backed by a 20 year warranty on the vitreous china, 5 years on the plug and waste and finishes, and 1 year on seals and labour.

Undermount basins are perfect for stone benchtops

An undermount basin fixes beneath the benchtop, so the bench sweeps straight into the bowl with no rim to catch water or grime. It's the format that makes stone-topped vanities look tailored and wipe down in one pass. Tradelink's undermount basins come from Fienza, Caroma and ADP in ceramic and solid surface.

Undermounting needs a solid benchtop, stone or solid surface rather than laminate, and professional fitting, which makes it a renovation choice more than a quick swap. Confirm the cutout template against your stone mason's plans before ordering.

What benchtops suit an undermount basin?

Stone, engineered stone and solid surface tops, which can be polished at the cutout edge. Laminate tops can't take an undermount; choose inset or above counter there instead.

Why choose undermount over inset?

Cleaning, mostly: with no rim on the bench, water and mess wipe straight into the bowl. The look is also the most tailored of the mounting styles.

How is an undermount basin installed?

It's fixed and sealed beneath the benchtop cutout, usually during benchtop fabrication, so the stone mason and plumber coordinate. It's a job for the professionals rather than DIY.

Do undermount basins come with tap holes?

No; tapware mounts on the bench or wall above. Plan the mixer position with your benchtop cutouts at the same time.
