Warm floor and a dry towel, both on a timer? The Thermogroup Thermotouch 4.3dC Dual Control Thermostat runs your underfloor heating and a second appliance, either an electric heated towel rail or a mirror demister, from one wall panel. That makes it a smart upgrade when you're fitting new underfloor heating or replacing an older, single-purpose controller. Dual relays let each circuit run on its own on/off schedule, so your floor and towel rail heat only when you need them. Set a different program for every day of the week, or keep them all the same. The Thermotouch also learns how long your floor takes to reach temperature, so the room is warm right when you want it. No more standing on cold tiles waiting.

Two independent relays control your underfloor heating and towel rail or mirror demister separately, so each one follows its own on/off timing
Self-learning start-up works out how long your floor needs to warm, so the room hits temperature exactly on time
On-demand heating schedule keeps running costs down by heating only when it suits your day
Manual boost runs your floor and towel rail until the next heating event, or for 1, 2 or 4 hours when you want an extra top-up

Just gentle radiant warmth underfoot. The Thermonet mat installs wire-side-down, and the hard-wearing mesh layer protects the cable while you work. It suits screeds of 20mm to 50mm and is best fixed to insulation boards. There's a lifetime warranty on the system plus a 3 year warranty on the thermostats, so it's quality you can trust for the long haul.

The Dual Control Thermostat (5245) runs your underfloor heating and a second appliance, such as a heated towel rail, on separate schedules from the one unit, so you get zoning to suit your daily routine

This single-bar unit runs on low-voltage 12V power and suits most bathrooms and ensuites. It's made from quality 304-grade stainless steel with a polished finish that holds up well in a damp environment. Running costs stay low too. A standard Thermorail dry electric rail can cost as little as one cent an hour to run, which makes a warm towel after a shower easier to justify than you'd think.

The Thermogroup Underfloor Heating 150W/m² Full Kit warms the floor in a bathroom, ensuite or living space without the ongoing cost of running a system you don't need. It's electric and on-demand, so you get heat where you want it, when you want it, with no bulky radiators eating into your floor plan. The kit's complete and ready to install: just pick your room size from the drop-down. Sizes run from 1 square metre through to 10 square metre kits. The Thermonet mat uses a 3.5mm TwistedTwin cable, a stress-free construction that lasts longer and runs with zero electromagnetic field. It's built for above-the-screed installation, directly under tiled floors. Lifetime warranty, plus 3 years on the thermostats.

Everything you need in one kit: Thermonet 150W/m² Mat, Programmable Thermostat, Floor Temperature Sensor, Sensor Conduit, Cable Monitor and Installation Guide, so there's nothing extra to chase up.

If you're renovating, plan the fan and heater positions with your electrician early, because ceiling wiring is far easier before the room is finished.

What size exhaust fan does my bathroom need?

Fan capacity is rated in litres per second or cubic metres per hour, and the right size depends on the room's volume. As a guide, small bathrooms suit compact fans and larger or steamy rooms need higher capacity; check the product's stated room-size guidance.

Are 3-in-1 units worth it?

For most family bathrooms, yes. Heat, light and exhaust in one ceiling unit means one install and one switch panel, and the current units add remote control. Separate components suit larger rooms where the shower and vanity are far apart.

Who installs bathroom heating and ventilation?

A licensed electrician, since all of it is mains-wired. Ducting an exhaust fan to outside air rather than into the ceiling cavity matters for mould prevention, so raise it with your installer.

Does an exhaust fan really prevent mould?

It's the single biggest factor. Clearing steam during and after showers keeps moisture from settling on paint and grout. Run the fan for a while after showering; optional timers can be used for exactly this.
