Providing a safe environment for our customers, our people, and the communities we operate is our number one priority. We have outlined a range of additional precautionary measures in response to the current Coronavirus situation in Victoria.

Under the direction of the Victorian Government Stage 4 Restrictions all our Victorian trade counters remain open to plumbers and registered builders only. For these select customers, contactless ordering is preferred and available via tradedoor.tradelink.com.au or by calling 1800 PLUMBING, or call your local branch or Branch Manager. Download quick reference contact list for all branches in impacted areas.

Please note that the Victorian Government has outlined you will need to carry a permit with you at all times in Metropolitan Melbourne area so you can continue with your essential work. There are significant fines in place for people working without a permit and falsification of these permits.

Employers need to complete the Permitted Worker Scheme permit process on behalf of their employees. You can find more information on the Permitted Worker Scheme here: https://www.justice.vic.gov.au/permitted-worker-scheme.

All of our Victorian Melbourne Showrooms in Stage 4 areas are now closed to the public, however you can book a virtual consultation online. Contact our friendly support team or call us on 1800 BATHROOM to place an order. We have contactless pick up options available too.

Dear valued Tradelink customer

As we continue to jointly navigate the current conditions, I’d like to firstly thank you for your ongoing support! While the safety of our people and customers remains our priority, Tradelink made a deliberate decision to maintain full business operations; ensuring we play our part in supporting you and our entire plumbing and construction sector. The Tradelink position remains completely unchanged and is best reflected by reiterating the previous Tradelink message:

Our reason for being is clear - we are here to serve you.

With over 240 branches in our national network, our stock position remains very healthy and through a continued focus on local and offshore supplier relationships, we remain confident in our ongoing ability to meet your needs. Our “A Class” lines (best sellers) are at 99.5% in stock across our branch network. Our imported private label brands have healthy stock weights in our 5 distribution centre’s nationally and our overseas factories are operating at 90% capacity now, with many at 100%. We have containers of stock on their way to our distribution centres and our factories continue to prioritise the critical and most sought-after product lines.

The impact of Foreign Exchange rate variances sees inevitable price movement; however, we will ensure all cost increase notification from our supplier base have clear justification and appropriate notification periods.A price notification page has been created on our website and is updated weekly with any Tradelink approved increases, ensuring you have full visibility of any price changes.

All Tradelink teams are fully observing physical distancing rules. We are conducting additional sanitising of work spaces, forklifts and equipment and our transport partners have equally implemented additional precautions with regards to contactless delivery, frequent cleaning routines for depots and vehicle interiors.

Like most of you, Tradelink and our parent company Fletcher Building continue to lobby the respective authorities to ensure we can continue to support you and we will be guided by health authorities and government as to our ability to trade, in whatever capacity should this direction change.

Our intent is to remain open for trade and be flexible on our approach for you and with you. Your local branch and/or account manager is here for you and ready to act.

On behalf of the Tradelink team, I thank you again for your custom and ongoing support and I hope you, your teams and families remain safe.

We continue to operate in unprecedented and difficult times. Tradelink maintains its focus on our partnership with you today, during the tough times ahead, and of course when we emerge and push forward together; hopefully sooner rather than later.

Our reason for being is clear - we are here to serve you.

As a business, Tradelink and our parent company Fletcher Building shall be guided by health authorities and government as to our ability to trade. Tradelink have a very healthy stock position, a strong national branch network and delivery fleet, as well as dedicated account management/support teams to tend to your individual needs. As a genuine supply partner, we remain focused on closely monitoring & managing the effects of the current climate, including significant Foreign Exchange (FX) impacts. We continue to work with our supply chain partners, and will provide best guidance and regular updates to you.

Further, as a key member of our industry, Tradelink is placing appropriate pressure to lobby government and related agencies to ensure the plumbing and construction sector is recognised as an “essential service”, in the event of a directed government shutdown.

Our intent is to remain open for trade and be flexible on our approach for you, and with you. As such, we shall seek your guidance around what it is you will need from Tradelink in partnering with you throughout these testing times. Your account manager will be in touch with you to discuss these needs in terms of branch support, delivery specifics and operating times.

We appreciate your support now and into the future, and hope you, your teams and families remain safe as we navigate this period together.

The outbreak of Coronavirus has presented us all with a difficult set of challenges. Rest assured, our branches are open and Tradelink continues to trade - we remain fully committed to supporting our team and our customers and are taking all precautions to ensure their health and safety, including:

  • Increased frequency of already diligent cleaning of our branch and showroom spaces, particularly in high touch areas
  • Calling ahead of any delivery to a home or site to ensure that product is dropped off safely
  • We will photograph load deliveries to site rather than request sign on glass
  • Increased focus on product delivery to site, to reduce in branch interaction
  • Support Centre team are encouraged to work remotely
  • Sales team visits to customer sites and supplier visits to branches have been paused unless business critical

At this point our inventory positions are solid with minimal impact to our supply chain. However this may be subject to change with limited notice.

Thank you for your ongoing support during this challenging time, we’re all in this together.

Subject: Stock Level Impacts from Coronavirus

We are anticipating and preparing for potential industry-wide stock shortages and delays from suppliers based in China as a result of Coronavirus.

Each year, we plan our stock holdings to prepare for Chinese New Year however, with the extension of Chinese New Year and ongoing Coronavirus situation, like many businesses globally we are anticipating that as we progress through March and April stock shortages and delays are inevitable. We have a high stock level of directly sourced product, however the situation is everchanging and we are unable to provide a guarantee on stock orders.

We are working closely with our local supplier base to best position ourselves for this situation and support you, our valued customer, through this unprecedented period. To mitigate the situation, we suggest talking directly with your relevant account manager about options such as taking delivery of stock now, buying essential items in advance and seeking alterative products should availability be impacted.

We are working closely with our suppliers to ensure we have the latest information, we will continue to provide updates as they become available. You are our top priority and your understanding, patience and support during this time is greatly appreciated.

Regards

Luke Naish | General Manager
